Film & TV Language index

Film & TV Language index Keeping an index of all your work is extremely good practice from a revision perspective. Not only does this keep the concepts and media terminology fresh in your mind but it will also highlight if you've missed anything through absence. Your index should currently include the following: 1) Film poster analysis 2) Mise-en-scene analysis blog tasks 3) Mise-en-scene video recreation and learner response 4) Lighting analysis blog tasks 5) Sound practical task 6) Sound: parallel and contrapuntal video feedback and learner response 7) Sound analysis blog tasks

Film & TV Language: Sound video feedback and learner response

  1) -Needs some clips added - video not embedded  2) -Good song choice to match the nature scenery  -Good variety of photos -Photos contrast well -transitions were good -no watermarks -found images 3) WWW- Smooth transitions added -Good contrapuntal images -High res images -Clear contrast  EBI - Use videos - Own videos and pictures would be preferrable - No description 4) I think the best video was Sapphire's as she had included high res images and videos, had taken videos and photos with a camera rather than a phone, good use of sound as it was parallel to the images and a very detailed description. 5) What I have learnt from the importance of sounds is that they determine the narrative of certain scenes whether they are humourus or serious.

This poster communicates narrative as the composition places the main character in the centre suggesting his importance to the narrative. 2.Scary Movie 2-horror genre This image uses typical horror conventions which is seen from the dark colours, creepy characters and frightened facial expressions from the characters. Lighting blog tasks

Still Image Analysis Picture 1 1.Examples of low-key lighting are seen from the strong shadows and the dark background. This also creates a high contrast which allows the person to stand out. 2.There is mainly front lighting as there is light falling on the women's hair and face from above. 3.The effects that are created by the lighting in each image is a mysterious, dramatic mood. This is evident through the shadows as they add depth allowing the smoke to stand out. Picture 2 1.Low-key lighting is presented within the image as most of the image is dark with contrast seen between the light and the shadow. 2.The type of lighting used is under lighting as the light appears from below the face creating shadows around the face. 3.The effects that are created is a eerie and unsettling atmosphere. The shadows appear to make the face seem more frightening. The use of a dark background draws our focus on the character's face.  Picture 3 1.This shot uses high-key lighting as the imag...
